While frigid temperatures are just starting to loosen their grip on Chatham-Kent, plans are in the works to mark the Coldest Night of the Year.
The annual fundraiser in support of those experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness is set to take place February 28 in Chatham.
Proceeds from the walk support annual operating costs for NeighbourLink Chatham-Kent as it works to combat poverty alongside churches and other organizations across the municipality.
The walk will begin at Grace Christian Reformed Church on Tweedsmuir Avenue West in Chatham with a light meal served afterwards.
Organizers are hoping to raise $70,000 with this year’s event.
