It’s over a year and a half away but Chatham-Kent election officials are already looking ahead to next year’s municipal election.
There is a survey going up to find out how residents would prefer to vote in the election.
There are four options, in person paper ballots, internet voting, mail in ballots, or voting by phone.
The survey includes 11 questions in total including age, ward in which you live, and if you usually vote. They are also looking for your opinion on the security of the various voting methods.
“We’re always looking at ways to make it easier for people to participate in municipal elections,” says Judy Smith, Chatham-Kent’s Director of Municipal Governance. “We want to present options and see if the public is interested and comfortable with doing things differently or if they’re happy with the current methods.”
The survey is available on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website until March 23rd.
The next municipal election is October 24th, 2022.
