A local women’s group has donated thousands of dollars in support of end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent.
The group Pretty in Pink recently presented a $25,000 cheque to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
“It’s a peaceful place for families to get the care and support they need in the end stages of life. Every one of us have had a family member or friend that has used this facility, and hear great things about the care and programs offered, so we keep it close to our hearts and continue to fundraise to help keep it in our community,” said Kelly Waddick, a Pretty in Pink member, in a news release.
The donation will fund a total of 42 days of residential hospice care for a resident and their family, as well as grief and bereavement support.
Since 2014, the group has raised more than $222,000 in support of the hospice.
