Darrin Canniff says the two communities have a lot in common.

“I want to have great relationships with our neighbours, all of them, there’s all sorts of opportunities between communities to save money,” Canniff says. “I’ve been meeting with other communities as well with (whom we share a) border, to talk about what can we do together to save taxpayers’ money and improve services.”

For example, Canniff says sharing emergency services could help residents in both CK and Leamington.

“We have a fire station that sits pretty much right beside Leamington, how can we work with Leamington to provide service there, how can we share costs between the two?”

Canniff says there’s a group already working to explore the potential opportunities, from sharing municipal services to bulk purchasing.
