Changes could be coming to leaf and yard depots across Chatham-Kent.

The municipality has launched an online survey to gather public input on various changes, including the proposed closure of the Tilbury Leaf and Yard Depot.

Officials say the Tower Street facility is facing mounting operational challenges and area residents already have weekly brush, grass, and leaf curbside pickup during the spring, summer, and fall. The proposal will be discussed by council in May or June with potential closure slated for July.

Other changes being considered include shifting communities that are still using clear plastic bags for brush and leaf collections to a paper bag mandate.

Area residents can have their say on the proposals through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website before the end of April.
