Chatham-Kent residents are being reminded to take precautions before travelling abroad during March Break.
Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is encouraging everyone to protect themselves and their property by locking all doors before leaving your home, using timers for interior and exterior lighting, pausing mail delivery, activating alarms, and asking a trusted neighbour to check on your home.
Those who travel are also encouraged to research their destination, keep important documents secure, stay alert in public areas, and monitor bank/credit card activity.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity should report it to police immediately or submit an anonymous tip to CK Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or by visiting www.ckcrimestoppers.ca.
