Protest Held Outside the Home of CK’s Medical Officer

Angry over increased COVID restrictions coming into effect later this week, a small crowd gathered outside the home of Chatham-Kent’s medical officer to protest last night.

The crowd included former PPC candidate Liz Vallee, who posted a live video on her Facebook page claiming Dr. David Colby had been served with “liability papers,” although what that entails exactly was not explained in the video.

CK police say officers responded to the demonstration, however, no arrests were made and no charges have been laid. Police say everyone was peaceful when officers arrived at the scene.

At this point, there has been no official comment from Dr. David Colby, or Chatham-Kent Public Health.

*editors note: a previous version of this story cited Liz Vallee as the leader of the protest. However, Vallee has since clarified she was there as a participant, not the organizer.
