Providence Board Names New Superintendants

The local French Catholic school board has named two new Superintendents of Education.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence says Micheline Limoges and Yves Mainville have been appointed to the post.

Limoges has nearly 20 years’ experience in education and will take over the role beginning June 1 as part of the management team to ensure the safety of schools, equity and inclusive education, as well as education in Indigenous matters.

Mainville joined the board in 2003, first as a teacher and most recently as principal at École secondaire catholique de Pain Court. He begins his term on August 15, and will be responsible for student services and mental health promotion, among other things.

The Providence board serves most of southwestern Ontario, from Windsor to Woodstock, including Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth, with 24 elementary and 9 secondary schools.
