Province Buying Urgently Needed Goods and Services

Ontario’s Minister of Government and Consumer Services announced the Supply Chain Management Act this weekend.
Lisa Thompson says the province says the measure aims to ensure the province can deploy critical supplies, equipment and services where they are needed most.
This includes ventilators, masks and swabs.
The province says these regulations enable the government to centrally manage public sector supply chains while allowing for the collection of key data on inventories, orders and constraints. The province is also developing a virtual inventory tool, making demand for critical supplies visible and trackable while allowing for prioritization.
