The provincial and federal governments will soon be accepting applications for funding to support small businesses in the agriculture and food industry.

As part of the governments’ $5 million Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, eligible food processors, producers and service providers can submit an application for funding beginning on August 21.

Projects supported through this initiative will include the development or improvement of food safety or traceability programs, upgrades to food safety or traceability equipment, assessments by qualified third parties, or implementation of recognized food safety programs.

Successful applicants will receive funding for 50 per cent of the project cost, up to a maximum of $75,000.

The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership application period will remain open until end-of-day on December 1, or until the budgeted funds have been fully allocated, whichever comes first.
