Ambulance dispatch services in Wallaceburg are getting an upgrade thanks to the provincial government.
The Ontario government is investing $1,734,770 into the Wallaceburg Central Ambulance Communications Centre to enhance ambulance dispatch services. The funding will strengthen legislated ambulance dispatch operations and ensure paramedics continue to receive high-quality medical direction and support.
The one-time funding amount is part of a province-wide commitment of nearly $21 million to support Transfer Payment Central Ambulance Communications Centres, Ambulance Communications Services, and Base Hospital Programs.
“By strengthening ambulance dispatch, our government is reinforcing the frontline services that people depend on in times of emergency,” said Lambton–Kent–Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault in a news release.
The communications centre on Dora Drive in Wallaceburg plays a critical role in coordinating emergency medical response services, ensuring that residents receive timely and effective care when they need it most.
