Ontario Premier Doug Ford is expected to ask the province’s Lieutenant Governor to dissolve the legislature, officially kicking off the 2022 provincial election.
Ford is scheduled to meet with Elizabeth Dowdeswell at 3 p.m. and she will likely accept his recommendation to officially start the provincial election period on Wednesday.
The vote will take place on June 2 with advance polling taking place over 10 days.
Elections Ontario said eligible voters are encouraged to confirm, update, or add their information to the provincial voters list ahead of the upcoming election.
