Municipal officials are looking into the fine print of some provincial funding.

Earlier this week, the Ford Government announced money for a number of small and rural municipalities to improve service delivery to area residents.

According to MPP Rick Nicholls’ office, Chatham-Kent is getting the highest investment available with $725,000, while Leamington is in line for just over $620,000, and Pelee Township will receive a hair under $235,000.

While the specifics of how the money will be used is being left up to local officials, the province says other jurisdictions have invested in projects like using digital technology to speed up turn-around times on record requests, and transit scheduling.

Chatham-Kent officials will be reviewing the details in the days and weeks ahead to decide how to best put the funding to use.
