Public Health, School Boards Working Through Contact Tracing

Three Chatham-Kent schools have been given their first tests when it comes to managing confirmed cases of COVID-19.

According to the Lambton Kent District School Board, all teachers have been asked to have an online presence ready to go at any time, so once students are sent home to quarantine, they can immediately continue their learning remotely.

Tecumseh Public School in Chatham sent home 24 students and six staff members earlier this week.

At the St Clair Catholic District School Board, UCC and St Anne public school have quarantined two classes each as a result of confirmed cases within the schools.

Public Health has been in contact with all close contacts of positive cases including fellow students, while directing them to isolate at home.

The health unit says if you are NOT contacted, there is no need to isolate or be further concerned at this time.

As it stands, there are 12 active cases in Chatham-Kent, the numbers will be updated later this afternoon.
