With the annual municipal budget process looming on the horizon, Chatham-Kent officials are looking to hear from local residents.
An online survey, now available through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website, is the first of three steps to update the 2024-27 multi-year budget.
The survey includes a number of wide-ranging questions as well as an opportunity for residents to provide general comments on priorities and projects they think the municipality should be focusing on in 2026. The deadline for submissions is October 15.
The draft budget will then be presented to council on November 5 in a meeting that will be aired live on YourTV and shared online through Facebook and YouTube. The document will also be available online through the Municipality of Chatham-Kent website.
Live Q&A community open house sessions will be held on Facebook November 19th at noon and at 7pm on November 20th.
The final phase of the budget process is council deliberations, beginning November 25, that will be shared on Facebook and YouTube as well as aired live on YourTV.
