Chatham-Kent is looking for public input as the municipality looks into the need for slope stabilization along the Sydenham River in Dresden.
The municipality is conducting a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment on a 250-metre-long section of Sydenham Street where slope stability and erosion concerns have been identified.
As part of the study, multiple solutions will be considered, including doing nothing, road reconstruction, road reconstruction with a curb and gutter installed, and road reconstruction with a retaining wall.
For those wishing to provide feedback on the project, the municipality will be holding an in-person Public Information Centre in the Dresden Hall at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre on July 9. The session will run from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The public can also submit comments, questions, or local knowledge that may help inform the study through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website. The deadline for submissions is July 23.
