A second public meeting is being held in Wheatley this weekend as the municipality gathers input from residents on the future of their town.

Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services and the Wheatley Task Force will be holding a public consultation session at the Village Resource Centre on Saturday as part of Wheatley’s Revitalization Plan.

The municipality will be gathering insights, ideas, and aspirations from residents, business owners, and newcomers to inform community priorities in the wake of the gas explosion in the town’s downtown core in August 2021.

This will be the second of two public consultation meetings, with the first held back in May.

Saturday’s meeting will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a community barbeque taking place following the discussion. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by emailing Wheatley Economic Development Officer Kyra Knapp at kyra.knapp@chatham-kent.ca.
