Public Input Wanted On Proposed Dresden Dog Park

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is looking for the public’s opinion on a proposed off-leash dog park in the town of Dresden.

The municipality has proposed installing the dog park at Tony Stranak Conservation Area, which is located on land owned by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and maintained under lease by Chatham-Kent.

The area would be designated a “Dog Off-Leash Recreation Area,” which is a fenced area where residents can allow their dogs off their leashes within a controlled environment without being in contravention of municipal bylaws.

There are currently two other off-leash dog parks located within the municipality — Happy Tails Off-Leash Dog Park in Wallaceburg and John Waddell Dog Park in Chatham.

Those who wish to provide their comments on the proposed dog park in Dresden can do so on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website until May 2 at 4:30 p.m.

All submitted comments will be included in a report to council for consideration.
