Wheatley residents are being encouraged to provide their input on the future of the town during a pair of upcoming consultation meetings.

Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services will be holding the public consultation sessions at the Village Resource Centre in Wheatley on Saturday, May 25 and again on Saturday, August 17.

The goal of the meetings is to gather insights, ideas, and aspirations from residents, business owners, and newcomers alike. The information received will then be used to inform community priorities for the Wheatley Revitalization Plan.

In addition to public consultation, the Revitalization Plan is expected to focus on risk mitigation, preparation for the future, and various studies following the devastating gas explosion in the town’s downtown core in August 2021.

Both public meetings will take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with refreshments will be provided. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by emailing Wheatley Economic Development Officer Kyra Knapp at kyra.knapp@chatham-kent.ca.
