Children in Chatham-Kent starting Kindergarten in the fall are being given the chance to tour their new schools with their parents.
The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is hosting open houses at all of its elementary schools on Monday for local families to meet with staff, take a tour of the classrooms and complete the registration process for Kindergarten. The tours will be held between 9 a.m. and 7 a.m.
“We are looking forward to meeting future students and their families for an introduction to the Kindergarten program,” said LKDSB Director John Howitt in a new release. “On January 31, families will have an opportunity to meet our caring school staff, who are focused on supporting smooth transitions to school for our youngest students.”
Parents are encouraged to complete their child’s registration form in advance to focus on building positive relationships with staff during their visit.
Current students will be absent from schools on Monday for a Professional Activity Day.
Children who are four or five years old by December 31, 2022 are eligible to begin full-day Kindergarten in September.
