Public Water Festival in Jeopardy

Funding appears to be in short supply when it comes to expanding a long-standing water festival to the public.

This is the 10th year for the Chatham-Kent and Lambton Children’s Water Festival. To celebrate the anniversary, organizers had hoped to expand the program, which is aimed at elementary students in the region, to the public for one on Saturday, October 5.

However, with a lack of financial support, officials say that likely won’t be possible.

Anyone who might be able to help is being asked to contact volunteer coordinator Don Hector at 226-881-2453 or email cklwaterfestival@gmail.com.

Plans for the school portion, scheduled for October 2-4, will go ahead as expected.
