A weekend fundraiser is putting participants’ muscles to the test.
Saturday marks the third annual YMCA Push the Bus event, part of the Fill the Bus campaign to help send local kids to camp.
The event will take place in the Chatham-Kent YMCA parking lot on Courthouse Lane on Saturday, June 6, from noon until 2pm.
Teams of three to six people push a standard school bus a distance of 80 metres, and the team that does it the fastest earns bragging rights and the Golden Bus trophy.
Organizers say for every $200 raised, one deserving child will be able to attend camp for a week, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
