A BC man is doing what he can to help battle homelessness in Canada. joe-roberts

Joe Roberts is pushing a shopping cart across Canada, and made a stop in Chatham-Kent yesterday to help the Salvation Army kick off the 2016 Kettle Campaign.

Roberts would like to raise 50 cents for every person in Canada, and has so far collected over $200,000 dollars.

“I think the biggest non-tangible aspect that we’re trying to achieve is the conversation we’re having at all levels,” Roberts says. “Whether it’s here tonight with the Salvation Army, or it’s conversations with MPPs, federal ministers, Premiers, and really engaging conversation at a municipal, federal, and provincial level.”

Roberts says he has always been inspired by Terry Fox and his message of community engagement and support.

100% of the money raised on the Push For Change tour will go to helping on the front line of battling youth homelessness.
