A Quebec woman has been arrested, accused of trying to pull a fast one at a Wallaceburg bank.
Chatham-Kent Police were called to the Scotiabank on James Street Thursday afternoon, and say staff became suspicious when the woman allegedly tried to open a business account but there were some inconsistencies with her identification.
Further investigation showed the accused was involved in similar incidents across Ontario, and is facing charges in Ottawa and Halton Region, as well as New Brunswick.
The 28-year-old has since been charged with with fraud under $5000, uttering a forged document, identity fraud, and failing to comply with an undertaking. She was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
