After loosing Federal funding, the Wallaceburg drop in centre will be asking council for financial help at Monday nights council meeting.

R.O.C.K. (Reach Out Chatham-Kent) lost their federal funding at the end of March of this year, resulting in fewer operating hours at the only drop in centre of its kind in Wallaceburg and its location in Chatham.

In 2024 and 2025, through a provincially run Homeless Prevention Program, R.O.C.K received $50,000 to offset their increased costs.

The drop in centre has already supported 2468 individuals from January to March and will be asking council for a one time amount of $25,000 to help them continue to operate while they find an alternative source of funding.

The organization will also be applying for a $25,000 Giving Back to Communities grant  from Enbridge.
