One week after a blizzard hammered southwestern Ontario, a change in the weather has conservation officials on guard.
A low pressure system is moving through the province, bringing unseasonably warm temperatures and as much as 35mm of rain over the next few days.
Officials with the St Clair Region Conservation Authority say melting snow and rain is expected to raise water levels in local rivers and streams with the potential for minor flooding in low lying areas, parks, and fields.
Residents are asked to avoid shorelines, waterways, and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks, and cold, fast moving water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue additional alerts should flood issues arise.
