The owners of Chatham-Kent’s only board game café and independent book store are inviting area residents to raise a glass to raise a roof.

Turns and Tales on King Street West in downtown Chatham is holding a wine fundraiser to support the creation of more affordable housing.

Throughout the month of October, $1 from the sale of each glass of house wine will be donated to The Brickworks, a project through the Opportunity Villages Community Land Trust organization.

“Chatham desperately needs more housing, and this sort of project is the kind of initiative we need,” said Terry Johnson, owner of Turns & Tales. “If you’re looking for an excuse to have a relaxing glass of wine or two, this is a great cause.”

The non-profit OVCLT aims to build 30 housing units between Taylor Avenue and Memory Lane, just off Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
