An argument turned violent has led to an assault charge for a Chatham woman.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a report of an assault at a William Street South address in Chatham at around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
Following an investigation, police learned that a man and a woman were at a restaurant when an argument about a past relationship began and continued as the two drove home. While in the vehicle the argument escalated when the woman allegedly assaulted the man.
As a result, a 31-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with one count of assault. She was later released with conditions and a June court date.
