Communities across Chatham-Kent will be honouring veterans and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Several parades and memorial services will be hosted by the branches of the Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday as local residents pay tribute during Remembrance Day.
The following is a list of every memorial planned in the municipality:
Legion Branch 252 in Bothwell will host a parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, beginning at the Legion. The procession will walk to the Cenotaph on Main Street for a service at 11 a.m.
A parade and service will be held in Chatham on Saturday, beginning at Legion Branch 642 at 10:30 a.m.
A remembrance march will be held in Dresden, which will begin at the firehall at 10:15 a.m. Hosted by Legion Branch 113, the procession will move to the Cenotaph for a service.
Legion Branch 185 in Erieau is holding a service at 2 p.m. in front of Molly and OJ’s Restaurant.
The Highgate and Orford Branch 335 will host a remembrance service at the Legion at 11 a.m.
In Merlin, a parade will begin at Legion Branch 465 at 10:15 a.m. and continue to the Merlin Community Hall for a service at 10:50 a.m.
Ridgetown’s Remembrance Day service will take place at the Cenotaph at 11 a.m.
For Thamesville, a parade will take place on the local sidewalks starting at Legion Branch 367 at 10:30 a.m. A service will follow.
A parade will leave from Legion Branch 206 in Tilbury at 10:40 a.m. for a service at Cenotaph.
A service will be held by Legion Branch 18 at the Wallaceburg Cenotaph beginning at 10:45 a.m.
And in Wheatley, a short parade will begin at the Cenotaph at 10:15 a.m.
