Holiday Service Hours
Municipal offices will be closed at NOON on Tuesday December 24, and closed for the holiday Wednesday December 25, Thursday December 26, and at NOON on Tuesday December 31, and for the holiday Wednesday January 1.
Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day every day and are accessible by dialing “911” for emergency calls only.
CK Transit Conventional Bus Service does not operate Wednesday December 25, Thursday December 26 or Wednesday January 1. This includes the conventional, Inter urban and Handi Bus Services. For information about CKTransit, please call 519-436-3233.
Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission (water and wastewater) – will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 & January 1.
Entegrus (electricity) will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31, & January 1. In case of emergencies, customers can call:

Swimming Pools
- Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool will be closed December 25 & 26, and January 1.
- Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed December 24 to 26, December 31 & January 1, and will be closed January 6-17 for maintenance.
Arenas
- December 24 – Blenheim arena is open for scheduled bookings until 2PM; all other Chatham-Kent arenas are closed.
- December 25 -all arenas are closed.
- December 26 – Chatham Memorial, WK Erickson and Thames Campus arenas are open; all other Chatham-Kent arenas are closed.
- December 31 – all arenas are closed except for Holiday Free Skates at Blenheim; Thames Campus; Ridgetown and Wallaceburg arenas. The Holiday Free Skate schedule is available at http://www.chatham-kent.ca/Arenas/Pages/Arenas.aspx
- January 1- all arenas are closed except for a Free Skate at Tilbury arena from 1-2:30PM.
Cultural Centre
- Chatham-Kent Museum and Thames Art Gallery are closed December 24, 25, 26 and January 1.
- The Box Office will be open December 24 10AM-NOON, closed December 25, 26, 27, and open Monday December 30, 10AM-6PM, Tuesday Dec. 31, 10AM-NOON, and Thursday. January 2, 10AM-6PM.
- Milner Heritage House & Ridge House Museum are CLOSED for the season.
Chatham-Kent Public Library – all branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 & January 1.
Health and Family Services
- Health and Family Services – including Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Children’s Services, and Public Health Services (including Clinic Services located at 177 King Street East, Chatham), are closed from NOON December 24, and on December 25, December 26, from NOON December 31, and on January 1. Essential public health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.
- Riverview Gardens Long Term Care Home – Administrative offices will be closed from NOON December 24, December 25, 26, from NOON December 31, and on January 1, but services, activities and visiting hours continue as normal over the holiday period.
- May Court & Wallaceburg Childcare Learning Centres are closed from Wednesday, December 25, re-opening Thursday January 2.
Waste & Recycling
- Garbage and recycling collection services for the remainder of the week following the December 25 Christmas Day holiday will be delayed by one day, and will also be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week following the January 1 New Year’s Day holiday for all areas receiving curbside collection – refer to your 2013/2014 Residential Recycling and Waste Collection Guide for details.
Transfer Stations, Leaf & Yard Depots
- Camden, Dover, Howard, Orford, Tilbury East transfer stations will be open regular hours December 21& 28.
- Chatham Township transfer station will be closed December 25 and January 1, and open December 21 & 28.
- Harwich waste station will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1, and open December 21, 23, 27, 28 & 30.
- Wallaceburg transfer station will be closed December 25, 26 and January 1, and open December 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30 & 31.
- Chatham Leaf & Yard Depot will be closed December 25, 26 & January 1 and will be open December 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30 & 31.
- Romney Leaf & Yard Depot will be open December 21 & 28.
- Christmas tree recycling – the Camden, Harwich and Wallaceburg transfer stations, along with the Chatham and Romney leaf and yard depots, and the Public Works Yards in Bothwell, Ridgetown and Tilbury will accept Christmas trees from residents free of charge.
