Work is now underway on shoring up a section of the dike along Erie Shore Drive.
Residents along the 2.5 kilometre stretch have been evacuated, making way for construction crews to move in.
Municipal officials say they’re also working on a contingency plan for the village of Erieau and surrounding area, and residents may see increased activity, including additional utility vehicles, in the area.
