An Erieau man is facing charges after placing more than a dozen 9-1-1 calls.

After receiving the repeated calls, Chatham-Kent Police sent officers to Nichols Avenue just before 9:30 Sunday night to conduct a well-being check.

Police say the resident was highly intoxicated, and officers cautioned him on the misuse of the emergency number.

However, when the calls continued, officers returned and arrested the man.

The 44-year-old is now charged with mischief and was held in custody until he sobered up.
