A local man is facing charges after police were alerted to a possible impaired driver in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a complaint on Friday at around 7 p.m. after a vehicle was seen swerving across all lanes and nearly causing multiple collisions at the intersection of McNaughton Avenue East and Michener Road.
Officers located a suspect vehicle on Hedge Maple Path shortly after and arrested the driver, who was taken to police headquarters for breath tests.
As a result, a 47-year-old Chatham man is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
