The report prepared by staff for Chatham Kent Council is set to be presented at the upcoming council meeting Monday night for review.

In the report staff outline the options that are available to mitigate the erosion issue in the area surrounding Rose Beach Line, an area near Morpeth.

In it staff outline the preferred fix is to close Rose Beach Line between Antrim Road and just prior to Wildwood on the Lake. A private laneway would then be constructed to provide access to area residents adjacent to the problem area. Also addressed would be New Scotland Line which would be improved to factor in the added traffic that would be using it as opposed to Rose Beach Line. The cost of this remedy is estimated at $7.8 million dollars.

This issue has been on the desk of council for a while; with the public having their say 4 years ago.
