A local organization is hoping area residents will dig deep to help those in need across Chatham-Kent.
CK Helping Hands is holding its annual “Fill the Bus” food drive at various grocery stores in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Tilbury on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Those in Chatham can drop off donations at the Real Canadian Superstore, Sobeys, No Frills, Giant Tiger, and Food Basics; Wallaceburg donations will be collected at No Frills; and Tilbury residents can drop off their contributions at Foodland and No Frills.
Organizers are asking specifically for non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and other shelf-stable items.
All food collected will stay in the community in which it was donated to support local families.
