Two of the leading support groups for Ontario restaurants are taking aim at Premier Doug Ford.
Restaurants Canada and the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association sent a letter to Ford demanding $100 million to support those businesses that are currently shut down.
The groups claim Ontario restaurants will lose about $20-billion during the pandemic, and point out the $20,000 in small business grants wouldn’t cover the reopening cost let alone lost revenue.
The groups are demanding a meeting with Ford immediately to discuss the ramifications of keeping restaurants closed during the province-wide shutdown.
