Retrofest Planning Kicks into High Gear

The 2018 Retrofest is fast approaching and organizers are hard at work.

Chris Glassford with Summit Shows is working the hospitality side of things and says the action in Tecumseh Park is going to be just as good as on the streets.

“We have a lot of locals (bands) that are on the bill right now,” Glassford says. “I think that’s one of the biggest things with Retrofest is we’ve always utilized local talent, and I think the public can get involved in that and have a good time.”

Glassford says one area where they are struggling is with sponsorship dollars, as it’s hard to compete with other big events going on in the community.

One hurdle will be covered Monday night at council with a request for municipal significance designation and the approval of a special occasion permit to allow for a beer garden.
