A Blenheim man accused of vandalizing the interior of a Chatham building is facing additional charges.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the 19-year-old was arrested on September 12 after he was allegedly caught on video surveillance pulling down emergency lighting on two separate floors of a Pine Street building.
The man was charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and released from custody with conditions to remain 100 metres from the location.
However, authorities responded to the Pine Street area on Wednesday at around 3 p.m. after it was alleged that the man had breached his release conditions by returning to the building multiple times.
Officers stopped the accused in his vehicle and took him into custody. He is now additionally charged with failing to comply with conditions and has since been released with an October court date.
