Another step forward for a proposed housing development in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Council has given the green light to a zoning change for 55 Lark Street to allow for a multi-unit residential development.

The plans for the former Monsignor Uyen Catholic School property call for several stacked row houses with 160 units along with the addition of sidewalks on Lark Street from Dove Place to Baldoon Road.

The proposal includes eight buildings, each designed as stacked row houses with each unit having a separate entrances. Access to the site will be from two entrances along Lark Street and Partridge Crescent.

A report to council says the development is subject to Site Plan Control. Other considerations, such as parking, access, servicing, and stormwater management, will be reviewed under a Site Plan application not yet received by the Municipality.
