After a two-year hiatus, a once annual summer event is returning to Chatham-Kent.
Chatham Ribfest will take place on July 7-10 in Tecumseh Park.
After being postponed for two years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizers said they have been working hard on several plans to meet pandemic guidelines and ensure the event can return on some level.
“We’re excited to launch our new festival layout which allows guests to carry their craft beers or spirits throughout the event, from ordering their ribs, to checking out vendors,” said newly appointed festival coordinator Chris Glassford in a news release.
The 2022 Ribfest will feature five award-winning rib teams including Route 55 BBQ, Brickyard BBQ, Jack the Ribber, Gonzalez BBQ and Silver Bullet BBQ.
Additionally, Ribfest organizers plan to host more local vendors and the four-day event will feature a packed entertainment schedule with local bands and artists.
“Now is the time to really support the local movement, we have all been struggling through this pandemic as businesses and artists and even patrons. We need to get out and support our friends and neighbours when it is safe to do so,” Glassford said.
