A group of cyclists will be riding around Ridgetown tonight to raise awareness about safety.

The Ride of Silence is a global event to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.

Organizers say that although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn’t aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.

Tonight’s event, hosted locally by the Chatham-Kent 4H Bike Club, begins at 7 o’clock at the Ridgetown Campus agronomy building.
