One grocery store in Chatham-Kent has been recognized by the Ontario government.

The Foodland in Ridgetown has received a “Silver Award of Merit” through the Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards.

As part of the annual program, retailers enter photos of in-store displays that promote locally grown and in-season fruits and vegetables, actively supporting Ontario farmers.

The Ridgetown grocer was one of 60 grocery stores across the province to be awarded.

The Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards has recognized Ontario grocery stores for their promotion of locally grown food for more than 35 years.
