Multiple residents have been displaced following a house fire in Ridgetown.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue said firefighters responded to the blaze at 13604 Golf Course Line on Friday at around 7:38 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from all sides of the single-storey home. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews remained at the scene to clear smoke and check for any fire extension in the attic.
All occupants who were home at the time of the fire were able to get out safely. They were assessed by EMS at the scene for minor smoke inhalation but no injuries were reported.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service is working with Victim Services to assist those displaced from the home.
Damage to the home is estimated at around $250,000 and the cause of the fire has been listed as accidental.
