Charges have been laid after a woman was injured during an assault in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to an intimate partner violence incident at a Chatham home on Monday shortly before 3 p.m.
When they arrived, police learned that a 63-year-old woman had been assaulted by her partner and had suffered injuries. It was also discovered that she had been assaulted multiple times in the past.
The victim was treated by EMS at the scene.
As a result, a 70-year-old Ridgetown man has been arrested and charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm. He was later released from custody with a court date in May.
