A local group is ringing in spring, quite literally.
The next installment of the Saturdays at 7 concert series at St. Andrew’s United Church in Chatham will feature an evening of handbells with Bells Ablaze and Bellissima Ringers.
Bells Ablaze is a conductor-less ensemble of musicians from across southwestern Ontario with a unique, collaborative style. Bellissima Ringers, a renowned quartet, will offer beautiful selections showcasing both ensemble and solo handbell artistry.
Organizers say the evening will feature a rich variety of music, from classical and folk traditions to spirituals and contemporary favourites, highlighting the incredible range and beauty of handbells.
There is no set price for the concert, admission is by free-will offering at the door to support the music program at St. Andrew’s.
The show gets underway at 7 o’clock on Saturday, May 9.
