RM Gives Back

One of the driving forces behind last weekend’s massive RM 40th anniversary is saying thanks to the community.

Fannie Vavoulis headed up the organizing committee and says after months of planning, she and Rob Myers are both overwhelmed with the weekend’s success.

“He’s extremely community giving, he’s very generous with his success, it’s a proud moment for him and his family. Seeing his kids on the weekend and grandkids reveling in the moment, as well as his wife, again you can’t describe as a planning committee and a community how proud we should be that the Myers family is celebrated for all that they’ve done and continue to do,” says Vavoulis. “I know Rob had his goal in mind and he will continue to raise money for these charities for the Monterrey auction coming up in August. We talked about it Saturday before the numbers came through and extremely happy, I don’t know another event in such a short time that has raised that kind of money. So we are thrilled. I have spoken to all three of the charities and they are so pleased as you can imagine.”

Proceeds from the weekend, totalling over $250,000, are helping to support the Hospice, Children’s Treatment Centre, and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
