The weekend’s 40th anniversary wasn’t just a good time, it was a great fundraiser.
More than $250,000 has been raised for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
About $80K from the Sam Roberts show is earmarked for the CKHA Foundation, the money raised from the Concours event goes to the Treatment Centre, and the Big Sugar concert proceeds, which was a sellout, will go towards Hospice.
Organizers estimate more than 25,000 people a day took part in at least some of the RM 40th/Retrofest events.
Meantime, in honour of RM’s 40th Anniversary, watchmaker Richard Mille has donated a piece that will be sold at the company’s flagship Monterey auction in August with all proceeds benefiting the Myers family’s local charities of choice.
That has an estimated value north of $150,000.
