Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by a witness who said the accused was driving erratically on Queen Street in Chatham over the weekend, cut off another driver several times, and struck a vehicle.

With the help of several other concerned citizens, authorities were able to find the driver as he was getting out of the vehicle. The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests, where authorities say he was found with twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The man is charged with driving while impaired, dangerous driving, and driving while suspended.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
