Chatham-Kent police are warning people to keep their wits about them when dealing with suspicious situations.
Last Saturday, police received three calls from drivers in the Chatham and Dresden areas regarding people purporting to be from Dubai trying to sell jewelry for cash for gas money for their two vehicles.
Police say it’s not an uncommon scam and want people to avoid becoming the victim of scams that aim at taking advantage of people’s generosity. If the situation appears suspicious, use caution and call police immediately.
