Rob Myers is gearing up for a huge weekend in Chatham-Kent.

The RM Sotheby’s owner is celebrating his company’s 40th anniversary starting tomorrow with a parade and classic car cruise in downtown Chatham at 5:00 p.m.

Along with classic cars, music, and dancing, the RM kick-off parade through downtown Chatham will include celebrity guests and unique vehicles like a truck Myers refers to as the Henrietta Chicken Truck, two life-sized mechanical elephants, the Batmobile, and more.

On Saturday, the Concours D’Elegance will happen at the RM Grounds, and Myers says it’s a must-see event.

“It’s as good as Pebble Beach or anywhere in the world. We’ve got some spectacular iron, so for people who like cars, you’ll never see anything like this ever again, especially in Chatham, Ontario. So have fun, be safe, everybody enjoy themselves,” says Myers.

The Concours D’Elegance is a ticketed event, with proceeds going to the Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre.

Also at RM on Saturday is a Graffiti Competition, local artisan vendors, food, drinks, and kids activities. Saturday’s festivities run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1 Classic Car Drive in Blenheim.

Along with the Retrofest classic car show lining the streets of downtown Chatham, which the BIA expects will include over 1000 vehicles, Tecumseh Park will be packed with family-friendly activities, including a Lego race track, a book tent with celebrity readers including Myers and Mayor Darrin Canniff, and more.

Officials are encouraging attendees to make use of the free shuttle service running from the old Target parking lot.
